Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase

Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase has been downtown Ann Arbor's home for stand-up since 1984, when it opened as the Mainstreet Comedy Showcase above the Heidelberg. After a move to Liberty Street in 1987 and new ownership and a renovation in 2000, the club settled into the historic Montgomery Building on South Fourth Avenue in 2014, where it still runs a national headliner every weekend — Thursday and Friday at 7:15, with a second Saturday late show — plus the long-running Comedy Jamm open mic. Rolling Stone once called it "one of the best clubs between the coasts," and the stage has carried Tim Allen, Dave Coulier, Drew Carey, Lewis Black, Rosie O'Donnell, Jeff Foxworthy, Paula Poundstone, Elayne Boosler, Rita Rudner, Maria Bamford, Andrew Schulz and Ellen DeGeneres on their way up. It is an intimate 18-and-over room with reserved seating, a full bar and snacks, and no drink minimum.
