The Fillmore Detroit is a historic 2,900-capacity theatre on Woodward Avenue in downtown Detroit, directly next door to the Fox. Opened in 1925 as the State Theatre to a C. Howard Crane design, it keeps its ornate Italian Renaissance interior — a standing main floor beneath a balcony seating roughly 1,150 — and is operated today by Live Nation. The calendar mixes national touring music with a steady run of big-room standup; recent and upcoming bills include Josh Johnson, Daniel Sloss, Ilana Glazer, Bassem Youssef, Nurse John and Atsuko Okatsuka.
