The Fox Theatre is Detroit's crown jewel — a 1928 movie palace on Woodward Avenue, restored by Olympia Entertainment and programmed today by 313 Presents. Its six-story Siamese-Byzantine auditorium seats a little over five thousand, making it the largest surviving theatre of its era and the room Detroit's biggest touring shows play: Broadway runs and holiday productions alongside concerts and arena-scale standup. Jim Gaffigan, Leanne Morgan, Jo Koy and Taylor Tomlinson all headline here, and the All Star Comedy Festival puts Lavell Crawford, Tony Roberts, Lil Duval, Mark Curry and Benji Brown on the bill in a single night. Tickets for every show are sold through Ticketmaster. The theatre is wheelchair accessible, with two original 1928 elevators, free assisted-listening devices and sensory kits, and a strict small-bag policy at every entrance.
