Privacy Policy
Last updated August 8, 2026
This policy explains what information Revel (“we”, “us”) collects, why, and what choices you have. Revel is a comedy event discovery service operated by an individual founder. If you have questions, email admin@revel.show.
Information we collect
- Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google; we never receive your Google password. If you sign in with an email code, we store your email address and send a one-time sign-in code to it. We use this to create and authenticate your account and to save the shows and comedians you follow.
- Contact form submissions. When you use our contact form, we store the message you send and any optional email address or phone number you provide, so we can read and respond. We also log the IP address and browser user-agent of the request to prevent spam and abuse.
- Usage analytics. We collect privacy-preserving usage data (pages viewed, referrers, country-level location, device type) to understand how Revel is used. We never store your IP address — visitors are counted with an identifier that rotates daily and cannot be linked across days. If you are visiting from the EEA or the UK, we only collect this data after you allow it in the consent prompt, and you can decline with no effect on how the site works. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless service that reports aggregate traffic without identifying individual visitors.
- Advertising measurement (Meta). We advertise Revel on Facebook and Instagram, and we use the Meta pixel and Meta’s Conversions API to measure whether those ads work. This means Meta — a third party — receives that you viewed a page or clicked through to buy a ticket, along with your IP address, browser user-agent, and the
_fbc/_fbpcookies Meta uses to recognise a browser. Meta may use this to measure and target advertising, including on its own services, under its own privacy policy. We never send Meta your email address, name, phone number, or any other directly identifying information. If you are visiting from the EEA or the UK, none of this runs unless you allow it in the consent prompt.
Email notifications
If you tap “Notify” on a comedian, we send you email digests when they announce new shows in your chosen cities. We send these on the basis of your consent — following a comedian is the opt-in — and every email includes an unsubscribe link that stops all notification emails with one click. You can also manage per-comedian emails and cities from the notify settings in the app. Sign-in code emails are transactional (you request them by signing in) and are always delivered.
How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the service.
- To authenticate you and remember what you follow.
- To send show notifications you have opted into.
- To respond to messages you send us.
- To protect Revel against spam, abuse, and fraud.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run Revel on our behalf — currently Google (sign-in), Resend (email delivery), Meta (advertising measurement, as described above), and our hosting and database providers — and when required by law. Event pages link out to venues and third-party ticketing platforms; once you click through, those sites’ own privacy policies apply.
Cookies
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in, plus a cookie that remembers your analytics consent choice. We also set Meta’s _fbc and _fbp advertising cookies, as described under “Advertising measurement” above; in the EEA and the UK these are only set if you allow it in the consent prompt.
Your choices and rights
You can delete your account — and the personal data associated with it — at any time from your profile page. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your account, follows, bookmarks, and notification settings are removed, and your past analytics activity is unlinked from you.
You can also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing admin@revel.show. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you additionally have the rights to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. You can revoke Revel’s access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active, and contact submissions for as long as needed to respond and keep records. Deleting your account removes it immediately as described above; we also delete data on request.
Children’s privacy
Revel is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above.
