The Green Room (North Austin)

The Green Room is a 21+ comedy speakeasy and lounge tucked into a Pond Springs Road suite in North Austin, running stand-up, live music and a free open mic most nights of the week. The room built its schedule around recurring locals: the Tuesday roast show "Poke The Bear," where the audience submits anonymous roast cards read live on stage; Jason Vest's storytelling showcase "Story Time"; the Friday "Tokes N Jokes" series, which pairs a headliner with a feature, a musical act and a rotating host; and Sunday's free open mic for Austin's rising comics. Touring and Austin-based headliners fill in the weekends. The lounge opens in the afternoon (3pm Mon-Sat, 2pm Sunday), a valid physical government-issued ID is required at the door, and there are no day-of refunds.
