The Comedy Attic is Bloomington, Indiana's dedicated stand-up room, upstairs at the corner of 4th & Walnut downtown. Professional shows run Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 and 9:15 p.m., and a free open mic every Thursday at 8 p.m. anchors what is widely considered one of the strongest small-market comedy scenes in the country. The club books national headliners well above its market size — upcoming and recent runs include Maria Bamford, Kyle Kinane, Eric Andre, Kurt Braunohler, Laurie Kilmartin and Emil Wakim, who is filming a Netflix special in the room — and it hosts the annual Bloomington Comedy Festival each summer. A full bar with nearly 75 beer, wine and spirits selections plus a full food menu cover the club's two-item minimum. Seventeen and over.
