Newmark Theatre

An intimate Edwardian-style room — two tiers of balconies over almost 900 seats — inside Antoinette Hatfield Hall at 1111 SW Broadway, run by Portland'5 Centers for the Arts. Opened in 1987, the Newmark is the complex's comedy house: Daniel Sloss, Fred Armisen, Dusty Slay, Ryan Hamilton and Maria Bamford all headline it this season, between Portland Opera, Oregon Ballet Theatre, White Bird dance and chamber nights. The same building holds two smaller houses whose shows are listed here too — the 304-seat Dolores Winningstad Theatre, a reconfigurable room where Stumptown Stages stages its musicals, and the 4th-floor Brunish Theatre, Portland'5's black box. All ages unless an individual event says otherwise, and tickets through the Portland'5 box office, whose posted prices include all fees.
