Moore Theatre

Opened in 1907 and the oldest operating theatre in Seattle, the Moore is the 1,800-seat downtown house that Seattle Theatre Group has run since 1994. Architect Edwin W. Houghton built it for the crowds expected at the 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition, and its gently ramped, column-free balconies and original orchestra pit survived a 2013 restoration that reseated the room and brought back the auditorium's ivory, old rose, olive and gold color scheme. It was the first home of both the Seattle Symphony and the Seattle International Film Festival. Today it is the larger of STG's two comedy rooms and Seattle's stop for arena-adjacent touring standup — Anthony Jeselnik, Pete Holmes, Ilana Glazer, Brett Goldstein, Daniel Sloss, Jeff Arcuri, Dusty Slay and Gianmarco Soresi all play the Moore — programmed alongside music, dance, drag, live podcasts and film-in-concert. Most shows are all ages, with reserved seating on the floor and first balcony and general admission in the second balcony.
