The Comedy Vault is a stand-up comedy club in downtown Batavia, Illinois, on the corner of Route 25 and Wilson Street just east of the Fox River. The room was designed specifically for stand-up and is deliberately intimate — the furthest seat in the house is about 50 feet from the stage — with cabaret-style seating for roughly 200 guests. The club runs an open mic on Mondays and five shows Thursday through Saturday, each in the traditional host / feature / headliner format for about 90 minutes of comedy, with cocktails, local beer and shareable plates served during the show. Since opening it has brought nationally touring comedians to the Fox Valley — Kevin Nealon, Yannis Pappas, Sarah Colonna, Matthew Broussard and Jiaoying Summers are all on the current calendar — alongside rising club headliners. Shows are 21+ unless billed otherwise, there is a two-item minimum in the showroom, and phones stay put away once the show starts.
