Van Andel Arena

Van Andel Arena is downtown Grand Rapids' 12,000-plus-capacity arena, open since October 1996 and managed by Legends Global. It is West Michigan's big room — home ice for the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins, home court for the NBA G League's Grand Rapids Gold, and home floor for the Pro Volleyball Federation's Grand Rapids Rise — and the stop arena-scale tours take when they come through the state, from Gabriel Iglesias and Pentatonix to the Jonas Brothers, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Ringling Bros. and Monster Jam. Named for its largest benefactors, Jay and Betty Van Andel, it has anchored the entertainment district on West Fulton since it opened. Note for visitors: no-bag policy (small clutches only), no re-entry once you leave, and any child two or older needs their own ticket.
