A 1,900-capacity historical landmark in the heart of Medford Square, just north of Boston, the Chevalier Theatre is one of the area's hidden gems. Operations were taken over in 2017 by Bill Blumenreich Presents — the sister company of Boston's Wilbur Theatre — and the programming spans small- and large-scale comedy, music and playwright productions. Recent and upcoming bills include Marc Maron, Michelle Wolf, Nate Jackson, Iliza Shlesinger, Bob Marley, Nurse Blake, Ben Schwartz & Friends, Comedy Bang! Bang! Live, Roger Daltrey and Smokey Robinson. An elevator off the side entrance reaches the lobby, orchestra and balcony levels, assisted listening devices and closed-captioning tablets are free at the box office, and all shows are all ages unless otherwise noted.
