Desert Ridge Improv is a roughly 300-seat stand-up comedy theater at Desert Ridge Marketplace in north Phoenix, sharing a building with the Copper Blues live-music room next door. Despite the name it is not part of the Improv chain — it is an independently operated CBLive room, and its calendar is stand-up rather than improv. It books national touring headliners in Thursday-through-Sunday runs — Steve-O, Samuel J. Comroe, Matthew Broussard, Heather McDonald, Ryan Sickler, Christopher Titus, Jeremy Piven and Billy Gardell are all on the current schedule — alongside weekly drag brunches, a stand-up class and an open mic. Seating is at tables, first-come and assigned by the host on arrival, with a two-drink minimum in the showroom; phones and recording are not allowed during the show. Most weeknight, late-Friday and Sunday shows are 18+, while Saturday and early-evening Friday shows are 21+.
