Wilmington's only full-time comedy club, Dead Crow Comedy Room sits on bustling Third Street downtown, sharing its building with the Lush Lounge & Garden Bar. Its roots go back to the Nutt St. Comedy Room in the basement of the Soapbox Laundro-Lounge in 2008; after that room closed in 2013, Timmy Sherrill and Cole Craven opened Dead Crow in 2014 and moved it into its current, larger showroom in 2021. Weekends belong to touring headliners — two shows Friday and two Saturday, at 7PM and 9:30PM — with names like Rich Vos, Vic DiBitetto, Emil Wakim, Sophie Buddle and Kyle Kinane on the calendar. Midweek is free: Meeser Eddie's trivia and the Dead Crow Improv Show on Wednesdays, plus a Thursday open mic. General admission seating is assigned by staff and VIP tickets put you near the stage; cellphone use isn't permitted during shows, and food trucks and a craft-beer garden work the block outside.
