About

Who cares about toilets? Wee doo! For the fifth year, viral musical comedy duo Griefcat and The People’s Own Organic Power Project (AKA The POOP Project) are joining forces with the creme de la crap of local comedy for the annual World Toilet Day: A Comedy Fundraising Craptacular on Sunday, October 25, 12:00pm at the DC Comedy Loft in support of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation . This annual celebration of comedy, commodes and a cause will bring together some of DC’s funniest performers in honor of World Toilet Day, an annual United Nations observance on Nov. 19 highlighting the importance of the Humble Loo and advocating for universal access to safe, dignified sanitation. The afternoon will feature musical comedy from Griefcat, The POOP Project’s founder Shawn Shafner, and sets from Kade Wonders, Kim Villamera and Yasmin Elhady, host of Muslim Matchmaker on Hulu. Audience members can enjoy selfies on the Brown Carpet featuring a custom toilet, a free water-saving toolkit from Montgomery County Energy Connection, and samples of Bloom, a fertilizer made by the city’s grossest domestic product. Raffle winners can take home swag from event partners including I Heart Guts plushies, gut-friendly fermented crackers from Central Coast Live Foods , and a grand prize bidet from Aim to Wash . Proceeds help fuel the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s mission to find cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. VIPoo tickets provide extra support to the cause, and come with reserved tickets upfront, five free raffle tickets, a pet poo, exclusive WTD swag and more! .
