The Town Hall

Founded in 1921 by suffragists, The Town Hall is a 1,500-seat national landmark theatre on West 43rd Street in the heart of New York's theater district. The non-profit hall was built for public assembly and is prized by audiences and performers alike for its intimate atmosphere, exceptional acoustics and unobstructed views of the stage from any seat in the house. More than a century of landmark performances has run through it — Joan Baez, Patti Smith, Jack White, Ani DiFranco, Ira Glass, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Stephen Colbert, Larry David and Tig Notaro among them — alongside a busy stand-up and spoken-word program that regularly books names like Kathy Griffin, Michelle Wolf, Ziwe and Fran Lebowitz, and hosts a run of New York Comedy Festival nights each November.
