The Secret Group is an East Downtown Houston comedy and live-music venue started by four local stand-up comics, with its own bar, a 350-capacity showroom and a smaller 80-seat room called The Box. There's comedy every night of the week — the weekend Best of The Secret Group showcases, the Best of TSG Headliner Series on Thursdays, weeklies like Monday Night Comedy, The Passing Lane, C U Next Tuesday, $2 Bill, Master Debaters, The Last Laugh and The (secret) Secret Show, plus five open mics — alongside touring headliners including Joe List, Steve Hofstetter, Abby Govindan and Billy Wayne Davis. The rest of the calendar is nationally touring music acts, Thursday karaoke, Friday emo/indie/punk nights and a 90s-2000s dance party on Saturdays. No drink minimum, no dress code, no food service (you're welcome to bring your own), street and lot parking around Polk and St. Emanuel, and doors open daily from 5pm to 2am.
