Taft Theatre is downtown Cincinnati's 2,200-seat Art Deco house, built in 1928 inside the Masonic Center at 317 East 5th Street and run since 2010 by Music & Event Management Inc. (MEMI), a subsidiary of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. It is the city's principal room for touring shows: national standup, concerts across rock, blues, jazz, country and gospel, film-in-concert nights, dance and drag. Recent and upcoming comedy bills include Jo Koy, Tig Notaro, Whitney Cummings, Kathleen Madigan, Paula Poundstone, Brad Williams, Matt McCusker, Jeff Arcuri and the Killers of Kill Tony road show. The building also holds a separate downstairs room, The Ballroom at Taft Theatre. The theatre is smoke-free, has ADA-accessible entrances and seating, and its balcony is reached by stairs only.
