Built in 1892 as the Union Gospel Tabernacle, Nashville's Ryman Auditorium became country music's main stage as the home of the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 to 1974 and is now one of the most celebrated live venues in the world — the "Mother Church of Country Music." The 2,362-seat National Historic Landmark in downtown Nashville hosts concerts, worship nights, speaking events and touring stand-up, with recent comedy headliners including Jim Gaffigan, John Oliver, Ali Wong, Taylor Tomlinson, Fortune Feimster, Kathleen Madigan and Brad Williams.
