Rose City Comedy is East Texas' only room dedicated to live stand-up, at 7428 Old Jacksonville Hwy in Tyler. It began in February 2022 as twenty folding chairs in the corner of a downtown iPhone repair shop and outgrew that space fast, moving in December 2024 into the former Cantina Laredo building — an intimate, purpose-built club with assigned tabled seating, a full bar and kitchen, and professional sound and lighting. A nationally touring headliner plays most weekends, typically two shows a night, and the owner opens every weekend show himself. Comedians who have headlined the room include Tim Meadows, Bobcat Goldthwait, Steve-O, Mark Normand, Felipe Esparza and Tom Arnold. Off-nights belong to the neighborhood: an open mic every Monday, trivia on Wednesdays, and karaoke after the Friday headliner wraps.
