The Peace Center is Greenville's flagship performing-arts campus — a block of downtown buildings on Graham Plaza, at the corner of Broad and South Main along the Reedy River, where the touring shows that come to the Upstate actually land. The 2,115-seat Peace Concert Hall is the main room, taking Broadway tours, world-class dance companies, orchestras and comedy headliners; Rodney Carrington and Anthony Jeselnik both play it this fall. The more intimate 439-seat Gunter Theatre handles smaller bills, including David Nihill's Taking Tangents tour. Two newer rooms round out the campus: The Mockingbird, a 180-seat listening room created by combining the historic Markley and Gullick buildings, and Coach Music Factory, a 1,100-capacity standing-room club in Greenville's old downtown carriage factory. The Greenville Symphony Orchestra and Ballet Greenville are resident companies, and The Pavilion puts concerts outdoors on the river. Everything sells through the Peace Center's own box office.
