McCurdy's Comedy Theatre

McCurdy's Comedy Theatre is Sarasota's dedicated standup club, a purple landmark at the corner of Ringling Boulevard and Washington Avenue in Historic Downtown Sarasota's East End. Running since 1988, its 300-seat showroom hosts nationally touring headliners on four-to-five-night runs each week — recent bills include Kevin Nealon, Carlos Mencia, and Steve Byrne — with cabaret-style seating that puts most seats within thirty-five feet of the stage. The Green Room bar serves food and drinks before and after shows and hosts a free Thursday-night open mic. Shows are 18+, with a two-item food-or-drink minimum in the showroom.
