McCue's Comedy Club is a standup room in the function space behind the Roundabout Diner on the Portsmouth traffic circle, bringing full-time live comedy to New Hampshire's seacoast. It was opened by Jim McCue and Helen (McCue) DiMarzio, founders of the Boston Comedy Festival, as an extension of more than two decades spent booking and producing comedy in New England. Shows run on Saturday nights with a touring headliner on the bill — Emo Phillips, Ken Rogerson, Rebecca Donohue, Joey Carroll and Jody Sloan among recent bookings — and Jim McCue also teaches a standup class in the same room. It's a 21+ room with free parking, and the diner is open for dinner before the show.
