Completed in 1925 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Macon City Auditorium is the grand room of the Macon Centreplex, in the historic district of downtown Macon. The 2,700-seat house sits under a copper dome reportedly the largest in the world, wrapped by a Doric limestone colonnade, and the stage is framed inside by a Don Carlos Dubois and Wilbur Kurtz mural depicting Macon's history. Today the room books touring concerts, family shows and stand-up specials: upcoming bills include Daniel Tosh, Karlous Miller & Lil Duval, the Heavy Hitters of Comedy tour with Earthquake and Adele Givens, and Jeff Dunham, alongside Macon Pops, Black Label Society and Travis Tritt. Concessions and bars are on the lower level, doors generally open an hour before showtime, and a clear-bag policy is in effect.
