Denver Comedy Underground is an independent, intimate stand-up room in Denver's Five Points neighborhood, built in the spirit of the underground clubs of the 1970s comedy boom: a 140-seat showroom with the stage right on top of the crowd and no bad seat in the house. The calendar is all stand-up — nationally touring headliners like Curtis Cook, Pat Burtscher and Brad Wenzel play weekend runs, a nightly Secret Late Night show keeps its lineup deliberately under wraps, the weekly Best of Denver Comedy showcase rotates the city's local talent, and Monday is a wide-open comedy open mic. Free buffet-style pizza comes with every show, there is no drink or item minimum, and ticket fees are a flat $2.50.
