Deaf Puppy Comedy Club is a comedy bar and grill in downtown Manteca, California, billed by its owner Chris Teicheira as the only dedicated comedy club between Bakersfield and Sacramento. The intimate 100-seat showroom at 127 N. Main St. runs headliner weekends Friday and Saturday with early and late shows, plus a free Wednesday open mic that puts around twenty local comics on stage. Doors and dining run all day — the kitchen and full bar serve through showtime, seating opens at 6pm rather than the usual thirty-minutes-before scramble, and a two-drink minimum applies in the showroom. Recent and upcoming bills include Josh Potter, Marcella Arguello, Rudy Ortiz, Rodger Lizaola, Jay Rich, Bruce Gray, Steve Furey and Mike E. Winfield, each with a named feature act.
