Comedy Key West is the only comedy club in the Florida Keys, running professional stand-up Wednesday through Saturday, an open mic on Tuesday, and a lunchtime Jimmy Buffett tribute show, "A Pirate Looks Back," Monday through Friday. It began in 2016 as a five-week experiment by Joe Madaus and Anne Walters, moved through the BottleCap Lounge, and now runs its own room at 218 Whitehead St. in Old Town, where something comedy-related happens six or seven nights a week. Boston headliner Tom Dustin books the club and brings national touring acts down for multi-night runs — Greg Fitzsimmons, Dana Gould, Dave Landau, Luis J. Gomez, Aaron Berg, Lenny Clarke and Mary Mack among them — while local comics get their stage time on the Tuesday mic. It's a small room with a two-item minimum and a 16-and-up age policy.
