The BJCC Concert Hall is the 2,835-seat theatre at the heart of the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex, opened in October 1974 and still the city's main room for national touring shows. It is the home of Broadway in Birmingham — Hamilton, Mamma Mia! and The Sound of Music all play the hall — and of Alabama Ballet's Nutcracker and Swan Lake, alongside a steady run of concerts, orchestral and film-score nights, gospel and R&B bills, and family entertainment. It is also Birmingham's arena-tier comedy stage: recent and upcoming bills include Daniel Tosh's My First Farewell Tour, Ali Siddiq's The Custom Fit Tour, and the Birmingham Comedy Festival with Bruce Bruce, Sheryl Underwood, Tommy Davidson, Mark Curry and Special K. The BJCC campus is cashless throughout, enforces a clear-bag policy at entry security, and anyone who has celebrated their second birthday needs a ticket.
