The Milwaukee Comedy Challenge

A friendly battle of wits amongst comedians from Milwaukee and Wisconsin, with more than $2000 in Cash Prizes, at least 2.5 total hours of Paid Gigs awarded, and the opportunity to challenge themselves to be the best comic they can be. This isn’t a competition between fellow comics. It’s about challenging themselves to write great material, get bigger laughs, and become a better comic. Round 5 of The Milwaukee Comedy Challenge at The Laughing Tap on August 12 at 7 PM! Admission is ONLY $15! Round 5 is where the challenge gets real. Only three comedians remain, and each has spent weeks proving they can take an unfamiliar writing prompt and turn it into original, laugh-worthy material. For this round, they'll once again debut brand-new jokes inspired by the challenge they received the previous week, putting their creativity, adaptability, and writing skills to the test. By now, these comics know there are no shortcuts. Every round has demanded fresh ideas, bigger risks, and stronger punchlines. You'll get to watch as they push themselves even further, revealing material that has never been performed before and finding out in real time what resonates with a live audience. BONUS! You'll have a voice in the night's outcome as one comedian is selected as the Audience Favorite, earning a special prize and the admiration of the crowd. At the end of the night, a panel of judges will make the final cut, narrowing the field from three comedians down to just two finalists. Those two will advance to Round 6: The Final, taking place on Friday, August 14, featuring a special showcase of our finalists, appearances by special guest performers, and some surprises, perhaps...?
