Shapel Lacey is a Los Angeles-based stand-up comedian. A diehard punk music fan and former award-winning competitive cheerleader, he has always had a passion for self-expression. After making his teammates laugh during practice, his collegiate cheer team dared him to try stand-up, and he never looked back. Shapel turns personal chaos into comedy. His material is sharp, honest, and unexpectedly heartwarming, balancing vulnerability with undeniable charm. He is currently selling out venues across the country, is a paid regular at the world-famous Comedy Store, has been named on 2026 the Netflix Shortlist, and performs alongside comedians including Matt Rife, Bill Burr, and Trevor Wallace. When he’s not on stage, he’s the frontman for his punk band, Mad Peaceful, or co-hosting his podcast, Cooked in the Comments. With the help of Yondr bags, we at the Comedy Store create phone-free spaces for artists and comedians. What that means:  Upon arrival at the venue, all phones and smart watches are placed in Yondr cases and will be unlocked at the end of the show.  Guests maintain possession of these items at all times.  Guests may also access their phones at any time only in the designated Phone Use Areas throughout the venue.  All phones will be re-secured upon returning to the event space. Anyone seen using a device during the performance in a non-designated area will be escorted out of the venue by security. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a phone-free viewing experience. Ticket holders should be checked in or in line by showtime. Once the show has started, your seat may not be held. Any open seats will be made available to standby customers.
